JDL completed a full renovation of 13 classrooms across four floors of Shillman Hall, delivering modernized teaching spaces in time for the start of fall classes.
Each classroom received new desktops, millwork teaching walls, sliding markerboards, wall-hung glass markerboards, carpet, ceilings, lighting, and wall railings. New registers, grilles, and diffusers were installed throughout, making efficient use of the existing mechanical boxes already in the ceilings.
With a compressed summer schedule, JDL used a top-down approach that staggered and overlapped trades across all 13 rooms, reviewing sequencing and progress daily to keep every space on track. As construction wrapped up, JDL worked closely with the owner’s low voltage and AV vendors so that every projector, screen, lectern, and speaker was installed, commissioned, and ready for use.
The result is 13 fully modernized classrooms, ready to welcome students back on day one.
