JDL worked alongside Cresa to on the relocation of the Mass Bankers Association’s headquarters, just a short move down State Street from their previous location of over 10 years. The new space was designed to better reflect how the organization has grown and changed, with a focus on openness, natural light, and a more collaborative layout.
Designed by VCA and Rimkus Engineering, the office includes 10 private offices, 3 conference rooms, a huddle room, and a large pantry and lounge area that serves as a central gathering point. Demountable Allsteel partitions with full-glass fronts and a custom champagne anodized finish give the space a clean, modern look, while textured wall coverings and carpet selected to match MBA’s branding help tie everything together. Lighting was kept minimal to keep the focus on the views of Boston Harbor and Faneuil Hall. In the pantry, custom tile work and millwork open up to a marble island, and K-13 was sprayed at the ceiling to keep the space feeling as open as possible.
One of the bigger technical challenges on this project was separating MBA’s power supply from a neighboring tenant’s. JDL coordinated several electrical panel shutdowns and worked closely with building management and both tenants to make sure there were no disruptions. Floor prep also required extra attention due to the curved design and transition between LVT and carpet, which led to some real-time adjustments on site to keep the schedule on track.
JDL delivered a refined, highly functional office space that reflects MBA’s mission and supports its continued growth.
