JDL Corporate Interiors partnered with Beth Israel Lahey Health, David Saltzman Architecture, and C3 Engineering to complete the build-out of an 11,000 square-foot primary care and radiology clinic located on the first floor of 480 Pleasant Street in Watertown, MA.
This project involved the complete transformation of the existing space into a state-of-the-art medical facility designed to enhance both functionality and patient experience. The scope of work began with the demolition of outdated structures, followed by the construction of new walls and the installation of modern electrical systems to support the clinic’s advanced technological requirements.
A critical early phase focused on the underground plumbing infrastructure. JDL precisely laid out and cut trenches into the existing concrete slab to accommodate new plumbing for sinks, toilets, and medical equipment. After installing the new piping, the trenches were backfilled with recycled soil and sand to ensure stability. The infrastructure underwent a thorough inspection to meet all state regulations before the slab was fully restored with concrete infill.
The completed space now features a welcoming reception area, six exam rooms, a fully equipped laboratory, four restrooms, a staff lounge, and a conference room. Additional clinical and support spaces include treatment rooms, radiology and ultrasound suites, mammogram and image reading rooms, as well as designated areas for medical preparation, clean supply, and soiled work.
JDL is proud to have delivered a high-performance healthcare environment that supports the mission of Beth Israel Lahey Health and contributes to the delivery of exceptional patient care.
