Assistant Project Manager

As a JDL Corporate Interiors Assistant Project Manager you will work closely with a Project Manager and be responsible for the following:
Helping to create a schedule during project set up and sub-bidding that reflects that project strategy and is sufficient to estimate from and to purchase subcontractors.
Identifying, tracking, and procuring all necessary materials ensuring they arrive as needed and in line with the project schedule.
Working with Project Managers to resolve any lead-time problems or set backs and keeping all appropriate parties in the loop regarding project implications.
Maintaining current financial reports to quickly identify potential and existing issues.
Developing and maintaining positive client and subcontractor relationships through established strong communication in regard to responsibilities, changes and issues as well as following up on requests in a timely manner.
Preparing, editing, proofing and issuing of detailed documents such as construction correspondence, contracts, submittal logs, RFI logs and meeting minutes. Responsible for processing project documentation such as expenses, contracts, lien waivers and certificates of insurance.
Interfacing with project superintendents, project managers, engineers, subcontractors and clients.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
OSHA safety training will be required
Understanding of complex mechanical systems in commercial office and lab buildings
High energy level and enthusiasm;
Strong level of discretion, professionalism and attention to detail;
Excellent communication skills – both oral and written;
Strong organization and problem-solving skills;
Excellent computer skills in all Microsoft Office based programs;
Ability to handle confidential information;
Ability to travel within Boston and surrounding towns;
Work experience tracking and updating schedules, RFIs, submittals, payment analysis, review of ongoing work at the site, attendance of meetings and project coordination with the customer;
Sense of urgency & ability to meet deadlines (self-directed)
