JDL partnered with BXP to complete the Cambridge Pioneer Room, a flexible event and meeting space located at 355 Main Street in Cambridge. Managed by the CRA, the room accommodates both community and corporate gatherings, celebrating the site’s legacy of innovation with a dedicated history wall and a detailed model of Kendall Square.
The build-out highlights both craftsmanship and advanced technology. The ceiling design features a striking series of concentric curves, formed by acoustical baffles and integrated lighting. Achieving this seamless look required extensive coordination between multiple manufacturers to ensure the geometry, spacing, and mounting systems aligned precisely. Delivering both superior sound absorption and a visually dynamic architectural statement.
Custom millwork elements are integrated throughout, including a scale model of the Kendall Square area that highlights upcoming developments and underscores the neighborhood’s continued growth.
The meeting space is also outfitted with cutting-edge audiovisual systems. Dual high-definition projection systems, advanced pan-tilt HD cameras for video conferencing, and next-generation wireless presentation tools are all orchestrated through an integrated touch-screen control hub, creating an immersive and intuitive user experience.
