JDL was recently brought on-board for the Roof Deck and Amenities Space project at 75 State Street – in the heart of Boston’s Financial District.
75 State Street is an 840k square foot, 31-story, class A office building. As one of the most prominent Art Deco buildings in the city, 75 State is a landmark in Boston’s skyline.
The project includes the construction of a large interior amenity suite consisting of high-end lounge, conference, and event spaces. Wood and metal wall paneling, terrazzo flooring, and playful patterns are some of the Art Deco design features that have been inspired by the property history.
The project also includes the construction of a 10k square foot roof deck – overlooking the State Street from 7 stories up. The exterior wall of the building will be modified to install a large folding glass wall – joining the indoor and outdoor areas and allowing for a seamless flow between the two spaces.
Amenities on the roof deck include a large outdoor bar area shaded by a motorized canopy structure. Intimate seating areas with sectional couches and overhead string lighting wrap along the perimeter of the deck. Radiant heaters are provided throughout to allow for the space to be used even into the colder months. A large turf area has been designed to allow for group fitness classes to be held outdoors.
JDL has partnered with Nelson, WB Engineers, and Copley Wolff Design Group to bring this iconic amenity project to one of Boston’s premier properties.
