JDL Corporate Interiors was engaged by a Confidential Client and Cresa Boston to assist with site selection and construction of their new Boston lab and office space.
Our Confidential Client is a global life sciences company that discovers, produces and distributes reagents and tools that are used in biological research, drug discovery, and diagnostics.
The fit out took place in a newly repositioned brick and beam building with unique architectural features and elements. Comprised of a combination of sloped and flat roofs, the building’s varying deck heights ranged from as little as ten feet to over twenty four feet. This meant that significant coordination was required in order to ensure the seamless installation and operation of the MEP infrastructure serving the lab spaces.
The lab spaces feature all new lab casework and equipment that will allow our client to maintain the highest level of integrity in their work. The design team and client opted to put the ‘science-on-display’ by installing full height viewing windows into the lab spaces. Because of this, visitors and employees are able to observe the innovation at work.
High end design features in the office space ensure that our client will offer best-in-class amenities to help attract and retain talented employees. Finishes such as faux concrete paneling, wood slat ceilings, acoustic wallcoverings, and decorative lighting were used throughout the space.
