JDL was engaged by Boston Properties for a full floor fit out project at 111 Huntington Ave. JDL was tasked with building a cutting-edge office environment for BitSight, a leading cyber security management company. This 41,000 square foot project aimed to transform the space into a multifunctional hub, encompassing diverse workspaces such as open work areas, collaboration rooms, individual offices, phone booths, large conference rooms, a game room, a café, coffee bars, and even a full bathroom/shower facility.
The design includes a diverse array of specialty ceilings which required close coordination to integrate lighting and other infrastructure. Concrete, wood, stone, and textiles were used throughout walls, ceilings, and floors of the space to instill an elevated and modern industrial aesthetic.
An accelerated project schedule added an additional layer of complexity to an already challenging project. Beginning in mid-April, JDL set a goal to attain the Certificate of Occupancy for the project by September. Managing subcontractor manpower, continuous monitoring of material procurement, and regular lookahead planning sessions were paramount to keeping momentum moving forward. Daily communication and problem-solving sessions led by the on-site superintendent were instrumental in addressing issues promptly and maintaining schedule.
JDL was able to successfully deliver this high-end corporate headquarters in time for the client’s grand opening party.
