800 Boylston Street, Boston

JDL was engaged by Boston Properties to fit out a new and distinctive office for their IT group.  Taking place at the iconic Prudential Tower, this build out draws inspiration from the breathtaking panoramic city views.

They layout balances an open plan office with a number of distinct workspaces including informal residential-styled meeting spaces and traditional formal board rooms.  Architectural glazing systems and sound-absorbing wall paneling were used to ensure privacy and acoustics were a priority in private spaces.

A dramatic black portal surrounds the main entry of the space which spills directly into the centralized café.  The dark black ceiling and industrial light fixtures are paired with warmer wood tones in the flooring and cabinetry.  The resulting aesthetic is not only industrial and moody, but also clean and modern.

Custom vinyl film depicting the topography of the Boston Harbor was designed and installed on the meeting room fronts.  This feature not only provides a unique design element, but also doubles in providing privacy.

This project was one of many partnerships with Visnick & Caulfield and Boston Properties.  We are honored to have been a part of it and look forward to many more.
