This past Friday, the JDL and Visnick & Caulfield team eagerly participated in the Cathleen Stone Island Outward Bound Corporate Volunteer Program, which engages partner companies in and around Boston for days of impactful service on the island. The program’s projects are vital to protecting the safety and beauty of the 204-acre island classroom, where students explore, learn, and build critical life skills.
The day began at 8:30 a.m., with our team gathering at the EDIC Pier in the Seaport District. After a short boat ride to the island, we immediately got to work on a series of volunteer projects, including clearing trails, collecting trash along the shoreline, and performing general maintenance tasks. These efforts help maintain the island as a safe and inspiring environment for Outward Bound students, who come from across the region to develop life skills in a unique and natural setting.
After a productive morning, we enjoyed a relaxing lunch on the island, surrounded by nature and the camaraderie of our colleagues. The opportunity to share this experience with our partners at Visnick & Caulfield also added an extra layer of fulfillment and connection!
Following lunch, the volunteers received a tour of the island, gaining a deeper appreciation for the impact of our work and the significance of preserving this beautiful space. The tour provided a chance to see firsthand how our contributions help sustain the island’s environment and support its educational mission.
The day wrapped up with a boat ride back to Boston, arriving around 3:30 p.m. Volunteering at Cathleen Stone Island was not only a rewarding experience but also reinforced our commitment to giving back to the community. We look forward to future opportunities to support Outward Bound and other organizations that align with our values, helping to create and maintain spaces where learning and personal development can thrive.
